Broken Window
04:29
|
|||
The liquor stores are on fire again out in the wild west
i shot at my neighbor, missed but i got his attention
he isn't waving a white flag yet
dissent dissent dissent
this isn't the end
but did you know apocalypse is...
it's just another word for waking up
i don't mean woke like holding tree pose
or your horoscope, a collection of salt crystals and essential oils
all the suburban soccer moms are calling out ANTIFA
no, they don't understand institutionalized racism, man
and they don't agree with the destruction of private property
they don't think we need violence for a revolution
but you can't overthrow a government
without breaking a couple of windows
i don't mean woke like lizard people, Qanon, DeSantis, MAGA, or the NWO no
you can't stand up to a police state by
placing a daisy in an AK and singing "let it be, let it be”
we can't let this be, please don't let this be, please don't let this be.....

Coffin Song
05:30
|
|||
neutron bombs away my love
let's break apart the earth we stand upon
and float away into outer space
where the weight that we've been carrying will dissipate
we’ll float away like the precious helium
the children clung to at the town parade
this coffin wasn't made for two
the velvet royal blue doesn't suit us like we wanted it to
it's clashing with our yellowing eyes
our skin so cold and pale and gray take my camera
take my picture anyway
everyone exaggerates
everyone's hiding from something
everyone's hiding from something
sad faces everywhere you look
out in the crowd we quit saving daylight now
everyone's tired the suns going down
toxic fumes from a train wreck
made their way down south
so can't we just go to sleep
somewhere soft and quiet and green
that coffin wasn't built for you
coffins are rarely ever made for two
i guess it's taboo to want to be entombed
with another person if they haven't died yet
but I wanna be
with all the things
that make me happy
they are few
i want to keep them
i want to keep them
i want to keep them all
i want to keep them
i want to keep them all

Nails on a Chalkboard v2
04:11
|
|||
morning comes and she chased away my dreams again
if i make it out of bed i'll drag my feet across the floor
feels like nails on a chalkboard half the time i slip and fall and crawl...like an animal
back into the shadows maybe i'll try again tomorrow
i'm sorry i called you too many times
i can't help it i miss you and i never got to say goodbye
i just want to hear your voice again
i must have left a thousand messages
a stolen guitar and a wedding ring my hands are swollen and you can't sing
at the pawn shop take the first and only offer
bitter words and vinegar in my mouth the only things that stick around
after you're gone on another greyhound
passed out on some park bench or playground
walking 40 blocks to meet with a stranger
i know you're not in any danger
i know i'll see you later
before your quarters all run out
i'm sorry i called you too many times
i can't help it i miss you i never got to say goodbye
want to hear your voice again
must have left a thousand messages...
now that numbers disconnected
that 25's already spent
you can't expect to get another gram out of it
the moon was waxing crescent on the night of your accident
we brought you flowers and get well cards

Say Something
03:18
|
|||
"Say something meaningful please."
It's been 3 years of stagnation, court dates and fees,
wondering if I will go free.
Nothing will satisfy me
even if I burn this whole planet down,
it seems.
Won't learn a thing.
I'll die from risking.
I've got friends who would rather end society
because there's no way of fixing these flaws.
And that's starting to make far more sense to me now
'cause we're lazy and used to what's wrong.
It's been embedded inside us since our first breaths.
We're destroying the world where we live
but I'm sitting here watching a T.V. in bed
wondering why i lack happiness.
Oh disappointing mouth
say something more than
another word about
how's your life's difficult
NOW!
la la la la la la
Life is all monotony
sprinkled with some moments of unforeseen extremes
in between more sleeping.
How will the prison showers be?
Will I have to punch somebody just to get clean?
Will there be something for me to eat?
All of us are just frightened roosters in a ring
ready to pounce and fight anything.
Though none of us will ever know what freedom is,
we have certainly felt lack of it.
Proverbs and clichés remind me that
I should learn to appreciate what I can get,
but they're forcing us to live within our own shit
and I wasn't born to be a pig.
Oh disappointing mouth
hold your tongue
so the cops don't come and beat the words from you.
Sing in tune NOW!

Something Philosophical
07:00
|
|||
are you stealing pills again?
how did it happen?
when did it start?
what are you so afraid of?
feeling normal shouldn't feel so hard
wouldn't you rather stay up late?
watch a movie, i've been meaning to ask you on a date
and you say something philosophical
like were we ever even here at all?
this isn't healthy this isn't good
for you or me
couldn't you stop for anything?
....it doesn't have to be me
I remember what it was like before
you'd come home 10 minutes late and i'm fretting at the backdoor
and you'd laugh ha ha ha ha ha i hated that laugh
but i know i was being ridiculous
your arms wrapped around my thighs
wake up holding hands in the middle of the night
and you'd say something philosophical
if you know how you're going to die
will you know that you were right?
and say i love you
i La La La La La La love you too....
i told myself it was mercy, that killing
i saw it in a movie on a big ol screen
but i had made a promise that i would never leave
i know i made a promise that i couldn't keep
i said it was mercy when the police asked me
when the casket was carried on past me
you're sick like a puppy
and i just put you down
i know i made a promise
i'd never ever ever leave
i know i made a promise i just couldn't keep
i'm already leaving, i'm already gone
i'm already leaving, i'm already gone

Little Dawn
05:10
|
|||
hey little dawn
how you been? what's going on?
are you still waiting
in a parking lot on 182nd and Crenshaw?
are you still wearing that same old mask?
holed up in county it always starts to crack
hey little dawn it's been too long and
the paint is drying up again on the mannequin smile
you think is fooling us
oh dawn it's been too long
i was a trusted friend who broke your confidence
now i'm a stranger with too much information
it's death for desertion
but i'm not giving in to your plans of self sabotage
underneath the orange glow
the streets of san pedro
i'm not going with you swimming
in the harbor, looking for some missing cargo
until the morning comes little dawn
i can't wait in that line on the sidewalk at sunrise
for a clinic to open up
i know you'll go anyway, just try and be safe
you reminded me of sunshine sometimes
i miss that light
i miss you sometimes
in the littlest light of dawn

Herbs and Politics v2
04:18
|
|||
You thought you'd be together
Really thought you'd love him forever
It's 1962 what could you do
Now your belly's starting to swell
Want to ask but you can't tell
Have to promise not to tell
Can't afford to pay for it
Governor says can't get rid of it
You'll find no help in the bible belt
She had a friend who had a friend who had a friend who said
Just a couple of minutes they can make it all end
The fever burned her body up
Nothings working they can't make the bleeding stop
She might as well have been a witch
It's a caustic mix, herbs and politics
Another man takes his seat
He sets out confident to lead
With God behind him and his moral authority
Capitalist agenda always calculating
He's power hungry needs to feed
Fills his belly and the bellies of his constituency
And they all agree on the sacrifice
They all agree...
Preach the sanctity of human life
Marionettes move their mouths but only on one side
They give us ashes, bread and circuses
They keep us distracted and the world burns
While the whole world burns
The whole world burns

Montana
03:30
|
|||
oh Montana she brings sunshine to the city
but the suns been leaving earlier this time of year
the gates close at 5:30 at the place i've been calling home
the past 90 days or so
cause i'm still trying to change
oh Montana i have changed for you
oh Montana i'd do anything for you
we will run away to a fairly tale pop song cliche and
live out our days on a ranch in the place that you were named for
oh Montana she is everything i want and want to be
she lights up everything she sees
yeah she's got eyes that burn right through me
i have to stay away when i'm lying to myself to make it through the day
i can change
oh Montana i can change for you
oh Montana i'd do anything you want me to
we will run away one day i swear
into a fairy tale pop song cliche
and live out our days on a ranch
in the place that you were named for

Trap Door v2
06:38
|
|||
Hold on to me this world is in split screen
Blurry lines make you dizzy
The static waves of sound can be deafening
Just hold on to me
Miracles happen in slow mo
Angels dancing on flakes of snow
We have faith that the sun is shining bright
On the other side of the world tonight
A secret garden with a trap door
A feeling you've been here before
Finger paints and razor blades carving up your face
I wake up bleeding on your sheets
You keep on promising
You'll check the bed, but then forget
and it all happens again
Everyone wants to be king
In a world full of powerful men
It doesn't work that way
The wheel of fortune it spins
It's rigged you'll never win
LIke a slot machine in sin city
I know you think you can
but you'll never win, you'll never win
Miracles happen in slow mo
LIke angels dancing on flakes of snow
We have faith that the sun is shining bright
on the other side of the world tonight
A secret garden with a trap door
A feeling you've been here before
Finger paints and razor blades
Carving up your face
